In honour of Archives Awareness Week, visual arts students from the City of Ottawa Special Needs Art Program celebrate Canada’s four seasons. This exhibit will take you through the four seasons as the artists have created works of art that speak to their own experiences by combining copies of historic photographs with various colours and mediums to emulate the beauty of each season.

Des personnes du Programme d’arts visuels pour les personnes ayant des besoins spéciaux, célèbrent les quatre saisons canadiennes, an de souligner la semaine de sensibilisation aux archives. Cette exposition recréée la beauté de chacune des saisons à travers des oeuvres qui reètent les expériences des artistes, tout en utilisant des copies de photographies historiques, la couleur et divers média.

Start with a self guided tour at the City of Ottawa Archives with the "Taverns and Troublemakers" exhibit, then hop on a bus and travel back in time with us to The Carleton Tavern, Elmdale Oyster House & Tavern, The Prescott, and ending with the Chateau Lafayette.

Join the City of Ottawa Cultural and Heritage Services Branch in partnership with the Council of Heritage Organization in Ottawa at Ottawa City Hall on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, to browse the informational displays and mingle with the exhibitors at the 2015 Heritage Showcase. This year’s theme: the importance of main streets at the heart of the community and what they tell about a community’s social and economic history.
