The Archives Turns 40!



Join us for a behind-the-scene tour, community BBQ, crafts, face painting and other fun family activities. First 40 kids will get a free Junior Archivist kit.

Free admission to the event. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

The City of Ottawa Archives invites visitors to drink in the history of Ottawa’s taverns and explore their battle with the Temperance Movement, the troublemakers who had a different plan for society.

In honour of Archives Awareness Week, visual arts students from the City of Ottawa Special Needs Art Program celebrate Canada’s four seasons. This exhibit will take you through the four seasons as the artists have created works of art that speak to their own experiences by combining copies of historic photographs with various colours and mediums to emulate the beauty of each season. 

April 7 to April 23, 2016 

Opening reception: Thursday, April 7, 6:30 -8:30pm
